An older Kabul worker received a Ramadan essentials package after spending the day pushing his cart despite pain and limited ability to lift.
The man in the March 11 field post was fasting and living with back pain, but he was still outside working with his cart. When asked why he did not remain at home, he answered that staying home made the situation worse.
The exchange did not begin with a long intake form or a staged distribution line. A local field coordinator saw the work, spoke with him, and completed a direct handoff of a Ramadan essentials package.
“Staying at home makes it worse.”
A responsible account does not turn pain into spectacle or claim that a package changed a life. It records what can be known: an older worker was still trying to earn, the team had a relevant package available, and donor support placed it in his hands.
